Find the sale price that covers your costs

Enter purchase costs and expected sale charges. Find the price per coin at which proceeds after charges equal the total entered purchase cost.

The initial form values are an example, not a live quote.

Amount means coins available to sell after purchase; fees are paid separately in the selected price currency. Fixed charges use that currency too. Taxes, leverage and slippage are excluded.

Uses your values, not live rates; rounded to 12 decimal places. With JavaScript, arithmetic stays in your browser. Without it, the form sends values to the server; the website application does not store them.

Enter all costs in one currency

Choose the purchased coin and the currency of all prices and fixed charges. Amount Q is the coin quantity available to sell; purchase fees are paid separately in the price currency. This model does not deduct charges from the coin quantity.

Enter purchase price B, purchase fee b, sale fee s, and fixed charges Fbuy and Fsell. Enter 0.1 for a 0.1% fee. The form does not fetch actual service charges.

The break-even price formula

Total cost C = Q × B × (1 + b ÷ 100) + Fbuy. Break-even price S = (C + Fsell) ÷ [Q × (1 − s ÷ 100)]. The result is in the selected price currency per purchased coin.

Quantity and purchase price must be positive. The sale fee must be less than 100%: at 100% all proceeds are consumed before the fixed charge, and a larger fee cannot cover a positive purchase cost in this model.

Example: buy 0.1 BTC at 40,000 USDT

With a 0.1% purchase fee and a fixed 1 USDT charge, total cost is 4,005 USDT. If selling also costs 0.1% plus 1 USDT, the break-even price is (4,005 + 1) ÷ (0.1 × 0.999) ≈ 40,100.1001001001 USDT per BTC.

Without charges the break-even price would be 40,000. Percentage fees and fixed charges raise it. Check the result by using that price in the purchase-and-sale profit formula: profit should be close to zero within rounding precision.

A reference price is not an order

Results are rounded to 12 decimal places and may not match an exchange tick size. A market quote does not guarantee execution at that price. Allow for spread and use actual prices; taxes, leverage and liquidation are excluded.

For multiple purchases, use total coin quantity and an average purchase price, then enter combined charges without double counting. Partial disposals and fees charged in different assets require separate preparation of the inputs.

Calculation questions

Is this a liquidation price?

No. There is no borrowing or margin requirement in this calculation. It covers the entered purchase cost arithmetically.

Why not just add the two fee percentages?

The purchase fee increases cost while the sale fee is deducted from future proceeds. The exact formula therefore divides by one minus the sale-fee fraction.

Can I use SOL or ETH?

Yes. Choose the coin and price currency. Manually entered values must use consistent units.
