The dollar peg and an execution price
Tether describes USD₮ as a token pegged 1:1 to the US dollar. That target and the price at which you can buy or sell the token are different things. Use the rate in a specific offer rather than automatically treating the price as exactly one.
Reference USD value = USDT amount × USD price per USDT. The result excludes any platform, withdrawal or payment-method charges.
Example: 1,000 USDT at 0.998 USD
At an example price of 0.998 USD per USDT, 1,000 × 0.998 = 998 USD before charges. A 0.5% deduction is 4.99 USD. Subtracting a separate fixed charge of 2 USD leaves 991.01 USD.
This browser calculator uses that order: convert to USD, deduct a percentage of the USD value, then deduct a fixed USD charge. If a service deducts a USDT-denominated fee before conversion, adjust the calculation to match its terms.
How to compare two offers
Check the direction: a USDT sell price may differ from a buy price. Check the currency of every charge and the final receive amount. If a quoted price already includes spread, do not subtract the same spread again as a separate fee.
Keep bank USD, USDT and a BTC/USDT quotation separate. A BTC to USDT calculation returns an amount of USDT tokens; it does not promise the same number of dollars in a bank account.
What CoinCalc helps you check
CoinCalc for iPhone and iPad uses public cryptocurrency quotes against USDT to calculate expressions and coin-to-coin reference values. It does not withdraw funds to a card or guarantee a USDT/USD rate.
On this web page you enter the USDT/USD rate and charges yourself. Use it to check the arithmetic of an offer. It does not fetch an exchange offer or execute a conversion.
Where the USDT price comes from
Enter the USD price of one USDT from your service offer at the chosen time. This example does not fetch USDT/USD or replace it with a coin quote against USDT. The fixed charge is in USD after conversion; the result is not a guaranteed exchange payout.
Calculation questions
Does 1,000 USDT always equal 1,000 USD?
That is the reference value at exactly 1 USD per USDT before fees. The actual receive amount depends on the entered rate and the terms of the service.
Why is the dollar value below my USDT balance?
Check the USDT/USD price, spread and charges. Different units or a different order of fee deductions can also change the amount. The difference alone does not establish a service error.
