Keep the units consistent
Amount Q means the coins available to sell after purchase. Prices B and S are per coin in the selected price currency. With BTC and USDT selected, prices are USDT per BTC. Choosing a coin does not fetch its quote: this calculator uses the prices you enter.
Enter purchase fee b and sale fee s as percentages: 0.1 means 0.1%, not 10%. Fixed charges Fbuy and Fsell use the same currency as prices. The model assumes charges are paid separately rather than deducted from Q.
The after-fee profit formula
Total cost C = Q × B × (1 + b ÷ 100) + Fbuy. Sale balance N = Q × S × (1 − s ÷ 100) − Fsell. Profit or loss = N − C. Return on total cost = (N − C) ÷ C × 100.
Negative profit is a loss, not a form error. If sale charges exceed gross proceeds, the sale balance can be negative: costs exceed receipts. A zero amount or zero purchase price is outside this model.
Example: 0.1 BTC with 0.1% fees
Illustrative purchase price: 40,000 USDT per BTC; sale price: 50,000. Each side has a 0.1% fee plus a fixed 1 USDT charge. Purchase cost: 4,000 + 4 + 1 = 4,005 USDT. After sale charges: 5,000 − 5 − 1 = 4,994 USDT.
Profit is 4,994 − 4,005 = 989 USDT, approximately 24.6941% of total cost. At a sale price of 30,000 with the same charges, the result is a 1,009 USDT loss. These are examples, not live quotes.
What the model leaves out
Leverage, liquidation, taxes, staking income and partial disposals are excluded. Use actual execution prices to reflect slippage. If the exchange deducts a fee in the acquired coin, first establish the remaining quantity and express costs in one currency without counting them twice.
Use the general CoinCalc converter to translate an amount into another coin. A quote now may differ from the one at transaction time. The calculator does not place an exchange order.
How to use USD, EUR or USDT
The price currency is the unit of every monetary input. If you choose USD, enter prices and fixed charges in USD. This is not a USDT-to-dollar conversion: changing the unit neither converts the numbers nor loads a rate. Total charges includes both purchase and sale costs.
Calculation questions
Is this net profit?
It is profit after only the charges entered. Taxes and other unentered costs are not deducted.
Can I select ETH instead of BTC?
Yes. Select ETH and a price currency from the coin lists. Both prices must use that currency.
Are my amounts stored?
With JavaScript, arithmetic runs in your browser without sending the numbers. Without JavaScript, the form sends values to the server; the website application does not store them and the response is not cached or indexed.
How do I calculate Bitcoin profit?
Choose BTC, enter the quantity, purchase and sale prices in one currency, and both sets of fees. The result is profit or loss after the entered charges for one spot trade; taxes and leverage are excluded.
